I'm using Cubase 5, HSO and Windows Vista (32 Bit)


Is it possible to modify the crescendo value after recording midi data.

yes, the crescendo data is written into a controller lane ( mine is assigned to modulation but there are other options.) You can then edit this post-tracking using normall controller editng techniques. any key switches used appear as MIDI notes and can be edited, changed, or added after playing the part in.
