|
|
Hi folks,
I bought the C-1U mic from Behringer. My mic preamp died, so i thought this would be a handy solution. After spending quite some hours trying to get a signal in cubase, i still don't have a succes story here.
I can see the mic in 'device setup', when i select the Asio4all driver which is the driver for the mic (which already is a con). Anyway i would like to get the mic signal in a track. Tried all the different tracks (midi, instrument, audio), but i can't select the C-1U. My instruments work fine (drumkit from Roland and Guitar Rig 4)
Any ideas on what i have to do? Thanks in advance!
Greetz,

What Cubase version?
Have you looked at Cubases input connections, also it would be an audio track that you will record to with the correct input selected.
I could recommend reading the getting started manual if you haven't already, but this seem to be a no no to a lot of people for some reason. _________________ Split V4.5.2 one day I'll upgrade myself |

Hi,
Thanks for replying. There are inputs visible for the mic when i select the asio4all driver, as stated. The thing is that this signal is not choosable at the 'inserts' of an audio track. While i.e. Guitar Rig is choosable, odd stuff goiing on .
Further i work with Cubase LE 4 and yes i read the manual, which in my opinion could be left empty as well, as its such superficial for a program that already runs for many years, that it's a cold shame.
Anyone that has experience with an usb Mic out there?
grtz

You don't select the channel input via an insert, these are for in-line FX.
You need to look at the inspector and select, probably where it says "no input" and set that to the required input. _________________ Split V4.5.2 one day I'll upgrade myself |

| Hmm, i only got the flavours inserts, equalizers, sends and channel. There's no 'no signal' to be found when i open one of these tabs. This is the inspector isn't it? |

Its where the track name is, click the track name in the inspector, look for something that looks like the input routing, it might well say No Bus.
But them I'm referring to C4 and assuming that it'll be the same
But then it'll be similar _________________ Split V4.5.2 one day I'll upgrade myself |

Well probably the problem lies in the LE4 edition then, because i don't see any signal inputs in the inspector. Probably i need to open my wallet before i can sing in Cubase . If the mic connection is possible i probably would have noticed it. Well thanks for your time anyway. If someone else does know a solution for the mic in LE4 i'm pleased to hear it. |

Under the help menu in Cubase LE there's a file called "Getting Started". That will walk you through what you need to do. _________________ Cubase LE 1.0.8, Tascam US-144, Toshiba Satellite Celeron Dual 1.8GHz/2Gb (from 25/10/09), Vista Home Premium 32 bit

The input/output window can disappear in LE4 for some reason if you do work in the other tabs but it is there -- try clicking in the black area just above the Inserts tab and it should open up again. _________________ Dell Laptop, 1.5 GB, 2G RAM

I GOT IT!! . Finally i managed to record the usb mic. It was VST connections (had to read the getting started manual i admit, sry, but reading isn't my favourite afte a day of work). I added 1 mono iput bus and 1 stereo output bus. After that i had to select the 'mono in' at the Inspector and the stereo out as well. Then a signal was born.
Obviously the mic only works when i select th asio4all driver. For my other instruments i like to use other asio drivers. Is it possible to use the asio4all driver for the mic, and an other asio driver for guitar rig i.e., so i can use them at the same time? Maybe you know this too. Thanks for now . |

Congratulations, were all so scared of telling people to RTM that it's refreshing to see you admit it helped you...
You can only have one driver selected at any time, best to stick with asio4all, it shouldn't stop anything working and will probably give you the best performance. _________________ Split V4.5.2 one day I'll upgrade myself |
