Hi,

I'm a greenhorn in this group and need help - Smile
I write this question in English, because I'm not shure if I will reach the community in German ... so feel free to react in either language.

MY PROBLEM:
AI4 will not install on my very brand new iMAC i7 with 8GB.

The Installer is aborting while saving the files in the iMAC with message "Failure please contact the supplier". The ICON is later available but the program won't run, will have the code.

As a result, no security key is issued ... no SeL possiple.

The CUBASE-Icon is shown on the Desktop, but the program needs to be fed with the Code from the eLicenser, wich is not showing any line. When inserting the 8group-4letter-Code the message appears that "no possibility of saving the activation code is given - please contact the supplier". I think that's a consequence of the not sufficiantly completed installation.

My iMac is complete mega brand new and updated today (24. July 2010) - Everything is legally purchased.

- AI4 - V4.0.1 / 2138 came with my YAMAHA XS6 Synthi 2 yrs ago
- AI4 - Update 4.52.274 ... downloaded today will not be installed because is demanding the original DVD (wich I insert). Reaction: "Please insert Disk 'null' of the software". I just have one??? The Installer is then just able to be stopped by "stop immediately".

The CUBASE AI4 ran on my WINDOWS-Laptop, wich was not sufficiant anymore (slowly but it ran). No I have the booster machine and the running speed is "null" Smile

Is anybody here who can and will help me? It took me meanwhile dyas and nights - you may imagine Sad

Thanks in advance ...

Using the 4.5.2 update patch for installing while the original disk is inserted is the right way and should work with Cubase AI 4.0.1 disks, too.
If the disk is scratchy you can try to burn a copy and use it. Or follow the instructions in this article for Cubase LE 4: https://www.steinberg.net/en/support/knowledgebase_new/show_details/kb_show/cubase-le-4-cannot-be-installed-correctly-on-mac-os-x-snow-leopard/kb_back/2020.html
You can use the same method for creating a Cubase AI 4 DVD. Just replace all LEs in the article by AIs... Wink
Might be a bit laborious but should be much faster than contacting Yamaha and asking for a replacement disk.
