|
|
I create midi tracks from BIAB and then import the seperate tracks into Cubase 5 to make the backing tracks for demo songs, and I also download midi songs off the internet to mess around with for fun. I have done this for years and have a logical edit preset that removes volume and pan information from the tracks and I also use the list editor to look at the info for the start of each track to make sure there is not volume, program change, or pan info left, so when I adjust them with the midi volume sliders for each track in the song in Cubase they do not jump back to the settings BIAB wrote for them. This has worked perfect for playing these tracks back thru keyboards of mine and other softsynths I have used so far.
I just recieved Halion Sonic today and love the sounds and variety of sounds in it, but I have done what I described above to a midi file I have downloaded in the past of the blues song "Touch of the Blues", and thru other softsynths has worked fine, but when playing thru HS I can make an adjustment say to lower the volume of the bass guitar track and everytime I stop playback and restart playback the volume jumps back to full volume. I can just click on the fader knob on the bass midi track and it jumps back to where I had set it. the actual fader knob never moves, but the volume of playback changes. I can adjust the playback volume in the HS mixer on the bass track and each time I stop and start playback its actual fader jumps back to full volume.
Any suggestions of how to correct this problem will be greatly appreciated. _________________ Windows XP Pro, Desktop: Pentuim coreduo 3.8, 4g ram, 4 sata drives, one for op sys, one for recording, one for backups of all recordings, one for softsynths. Is there a way to tell Halion Sonic not to respond to volume and pan information written to the midi track created by BIAB (Band in a Box 2010) _________________ Windows XP Pro, Desktop: Pentuim coreduo 3.8, 4g ram, 4 sata drives, one for op sys, one for recording, one for backups of all recordings, one for softsynths. Bump
Can anyone advise me on whether there is a way to tell Halion Sonic or Cubase 5 to ignore volume and pan info written into a midi file.
Or can someone out there tell me how to create or create for me a Logical Preset that will remove volume and pan info from a midi track. I have one I tried to create but even after reading the manual have little understanding of how to create such a preset, and it apparantly is not working.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. _________________ Windows XP Pro, Desktop: Pentuim coreduo 3.8, 4g ram, 4 sata drives, one for op sys, one for recording, one for backups of all recordings, one for softsynths. Just go into the cubase-midi-editor by double clicking the midi part, select all volume or pan-controller data, hit <ctrl>+A and hit <del>. That's all. Maybe you should read the manual to become familiar with the way of selecting different types of data in the midi-editor. _________________ free mp3s: enroe.de and andy-enroe.de

enroe,
Enroe
Thank you for your attempt to help me. I have known how to go into the list editor and delete pan, efx, volume, etc. information for over 9 years now. I have read every manual that came with my original Cubase which was Cubuse VST5 in 2000 from first to last page. This included a 212pg. hardcopy getting started manual and 6 PDF manuals ranging from 120 to 628 pages just to get familiar with all the program had to offer and then have for all these years spent huge amounts of time going back and re reading specific topics I was still trying to rap my head around as I use this, what I consider to be a wonderful stable program, that I have for 10 years day in day out in my studio. I have continued doing this thru the years all the way up to Cubase 5.5. Also thru the years I have spent hundreds of hours either searching for certain topics or just browsing Cubase.net to continue learning and hopefully helping others. Yet I have downloaded some midi files that would have no volume information show up in the editors but is still affecting the volume of playback once I have made adjustments, making the adjustments useless.
So I was hoping someone new of something in Halion Sonic itself or Cubase 5.5 that I was missing that would allow me to tell it to not recognize volume written into the track.
Or have someone help explain to me how to write a Logical Editor preset (no matter how much reading I have done I have not been able to grasp how to write Logical Presets, I think mostly because of a non clear understanding of midi conroller number assignments and how they work) or if easier for them for someone to just write one for me that would remove volume, prog change, and pan information even if it could not be seen in one of the editors.
But still I say thank you for trying to help since noone else has been kind enough to take time to even respond to my question, which I must admit is rare compared to most of my experiences on this forum where most of the time you usually get many quick and informative responses.
Thank You,
May God Bless Your Day,
